AllMusic Review by

Pianist Terry Waldo teams up with some very impressive sidemen on this Stomp Off LP for a particularly strong program of classic jazz. With cornetist Peter Ecklund, Chuck Wilson (doubling on clarinet and alto), trombonist Dan Barrett, violinist Andy Stein, Howard Alden (on banjo and guitar), Vince Giordano (tripling on tuba, bass sax and string bass), drummer Arnie Kinsella and singer Susan LaMarche all making colorful contributions, Waldo explores such material from the 1920s and '30s as "Birmingham Bertha," Harry Reser's "Pickins," Bix Beiderbecke's "Candlelights," "Sugar Foot Strut," "Three Blind Mice" and "Forty-Second Street." This easily-overlooked album (which has a bland cover) is well worth searching for.
