It's been about ten years sinceVishal Shekhar started composing film music and the duo has had a particularly exciting career since. Having delivered their biggest hit, Om Shanti Om, just a year back, the duo releases yet another successful album in Tashan. Sukhwinder Singh lends his powerful voice to "Dil Haara" giving it a rustic texture with a sufi flavor. With lyrics from contemporary ace lyricist Piyush Mishra, "Dil Haara" provides a potent romantic number on the album. Piyush Mishra also sings briefly on "Chhaliya" which has a trademark Vishal Shekhar rhythm and beat sound written all over it. "Dil Dance Maare" and "Falak Tak" are again fully carved songs that enhance the overall excitement quotient of this album. Yet, the biggest hit of the album is its title track "Tashan Mein." With rock elements imbibed fully into the songs giving it the punchy zest, "Tashan Mein" surely goes on to blast loudspeakers around the country full frontal throughout the year. Tashan adds yet another successful album to the long list of hits from Vishal Shekhar. Though the album doesn't have a single dull point, it still scores low on any groundbreakingly innovative scale, and like all the duo's other hits, Tashan will fail to succeed beyond any other of their offerings.
