This is a disc of guitar-dominated instrumental rock. The group is composed of Sean Joplin, Derek Scott, G.T. Richards, and Jonathann Launer. The musical styles here are all over the classic rock spectrum, running into the areas of Joe Satriani, the Allman Brothers, and more. There are a couple things that take away from this disc at times. The first of those that pops up is an almost garage band kind of sound in places. The second problem is a bit more prevalent. As good as this material is, and much of it really is quite good, it really has trouble holding interest as instrumentals. Much of the music suffers from a bit of a boring texture due to not having a vocal line to carry the melody and provide some lyrical interest. That said, though, there are a good number of pieces here that work quite well as they are presented. If you are the kind of person who likes a good instrumental rock album, this one should be of interest.
