AllMusic Review by

From 1976 through 1983, bassist, singer, and songwriter Michael Henderson released seven solo albums for the Buddah label. This anthology, issued by the Sony-affiliated Decision label, covers that era and leads with "You Are My Starship," the quiet storm classic that Henderson granted to Norman Connors. All the notable singles off the albums are here, including the Top 20 R&B hits "Take Me I'm Yours," "In the Night-Time," and "Wide Receiver." Additionally, there's "Can't We Fall in Love Again," one of his great duets with Phyllis Hyman, which appeared on Hyman's 1981 album of the same title. All of Henderson's Buddah albums were reissued during the 2010s, but this thoughtful package is ideal for casual fans.
