AllMusic Review by

Tactical Knives, the second full-length release from Duochrome, builds on the grungy, crunchy core of their previous releases and adds a melodic tightness and some clever lyrics. Noisy, but not loud or harsh, their sound often mimics the lo-fi beginnings of bands like the Psychedelic Furs, though the smooth, suburban tenor of Brian Goad's vocals keep the music a little closer to pop. The often surreal lyrics are a mixed bag, but some of the songs come off as poignant or funny, like "Girls Deluxe," which is about how Internet porn panders to the needs of the lonely and ugly. Another favorite is the spacey "Baffle Wall," which shimmers with guitar energy.
