What an absolute ripoff this one is. Here are bad transfers of the early Hite Morgan Beach Boy sides with demos of "Surfin' Safari" and "Surfer Girl" masquerading as the original hit versions, sitting next to two tracks ("Baleca Blue" and "Wipe Out") that clearly aren't the Beach Boys in any way, shape or form. To cap it off, the Marketts' "Surfer Stomp" is wedged into the lineup, another tune that the band never recorded! The eight tunes by Jan and Dean feature seven later recuts of their biggest hits (sounding like they were recorded without Jan's participation), with a smeary transfer of "Heart and Soul" to put the lid on this horrible mess. By all means, even if you see this in a budget bin, pass this by and buy any of their EMI/Capitol greatest hits packages instead. "Surfer Hits"? Hardly.
