AllMusic Review by

The second volume of Supa Funky might be trying to do a little too much within the span of two discs. It does attempt to go above and beyond the call of compilation duty by including a wide range of material, but it doesn't quite tie it all together to make the set more than a way to obtain a few tracks you've been needing to get your hands on. You could do far worse than this, even though it's not likely that you'll need the James Taylor Quartet's polite acid jazz on the same set as the Temptations' "Psychedelic Shack" or the Stereo MC's "Connected." Evaluated on a track-by-track basis, there are plenty of enjoyable moments, including Barry White's "Playing Your Game, Baby," Kool & the Gang's "Funky Stuff," the Commodores' "Machine Gun," and the Ohio Players' "Love Rollercoaster."
