Sunsets is a pretty generic name for a chill comp, and this one's flowerful artwork seems too common, too. But get past these stoppers and Sunsets, Vol. 3 is a rewarding mixture of jazz-infused electronica and comfortable downtempo grooves. Deep Sound Channel's "No Dope" plays spacy laser-beam synths off a plodding beat and two-note organ figure, while Audiossey (related to Morrissey?) drops a cut-up bassline over glitchy breaks. "Vibes Ain't Nothing but the Vibes" is pulled from Barry Adamson's soundtrack work -- appropriately, its soupy atmosphere is both jazzy and provocative. Other highlights of Sunsets include the cool French-language dub of Max Berlin's "Elle et Moi," and the evocative horn work of DJ Food's "The Crow."
