In the land of the Countdown Singers there are many records adequate enough to be played within a public forum. Then there are those that should have never been made. Summertime Party falls in between the two categories, with some tunes actually being strong interpretations of the originals. But for every one song that stands out there are two that never should have been unleashed to an unsuspecting buying public. The main problem with many of these songs lie not in the performance but the actual recordings, especially when the vocals are painfully high in the mix. Chances are this will pass by to most people just looking for an economically sensible compilation of some good summer songs. But for those with a bit more of a discerning ear, it would be much easier to purchase a compilation with the recordings by the original artists instead.
