Stupid Cupid: 50 of the Best Hits collects dozens of Connie Francis' best-loved singles from the mid-'50s and '60s, including her sultry early rock and proto-girl group sides as well as more orchestrated vocal pop from later in her career. Teenage pop tracks from the dawn of rock & roll like "Eighteen," "My Sailor Boy," "Lipstick on Your Collar," and title track "Stupid Cupid" all bring together the more family-friendly side of the not always innocent beginnings of the rock era. This collection is far from a greatest-hits disc, notably missing many if not most of Francis' number one chart-toppers, but rather it highlights the depth of her catalog, going from those early sock-hop ditties to songs as mature and sophisticated as her take on soul classic "Try a Little Tenderness."
