Not since Bob Dylan ranted his "Highway 61 Revisited" has the blues been treated with such blundering wit. Womack hallucinates, drawls, and charms his way through a batch of original tunes. Any singer who yearns for the "teeth of John Davidson" and praises Rubbermaid products, as well as spinning some solid songcraft, sure can't be bad. Indeed, it's pretty damn good.
