AllMusic Review by

A collection of urban gospel from Soul Muzick Records, an independent gospel label that mixes hip- hop, urban contemporary and CCM styles in an effort to bring a younger and hipper audience to Christian music, Street Gospel, Vol. 1 succeeds best on the straight up rap tracks, which tend not to telegraph every punch. Lil Raskull's "Stick Ya Neck Out," Tragedy's speed-rapping "Diamonds in the Rough," and "Ghetto Streets" by Son of Jesse all draw the ears in long before delivering their messages, and do so, for the most part, without resorting to platitudes.
