Stranglemania, Vol. 1 Review

by Bradley Torreano

Insane Clown Posse missed their true calling, as Stranglemania, Vol. 1 reveals. It may look like nothing more than some goofy independent wrestling matches from the outside, but it's actually several bloody and unbelievably violent matches from Japan as hosted by Violent J and Shaggy Two Dope. Going under fake names, the duo's blustery delivery, wrestling in-jokes, and sardonic approach are the ultimate way to enjoy their sense of humor. Although still filthy and gross, it leaves out the music and focuses on their gimmick, which is far more entertaining than their primary career. Although no wrestling league would touch these guys with a ten-foot pole after getting kicked out of every major promotion in America, Insane Clown Posse missed their calling as wrestling announcers. It may only appeal to juggalos and wrestling fans, but it's the best thing they've released to video.
