With seven songs clocking in at less than 13 minutes, these Louisville sluggers gleefully proceed nowhere really, really rapidly on their debut EP, Stops a Beating Heart, not unlike the prototypical Hüsker Dü days when that band broke the Land Speed Record. In both cases, you can hear hints that one day melody might enter into the equation, but that day is definitely not now, and tomorrow isn't looking very good either -- but there are other things in life besides melodies anyway. Black Widows also offer a thankful upgrade in the production department and a more modern feel to the bashing noisecore thrashing.
