The nephew of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's Layzie Bone, it's safe to say that hip-hop runs through rapper Dizzy Wright's veins, and his ties to another era of rap shine through on his EP, State of Mind. With eclectic production that seems to float somewhere between a Def Jux sense of experimentation and trap's bass-heavy impact, Wright's rapid-fire delivery helps tie the album together, providing an anchor to keep it from simply floating off in a smoked-out haze. While Dizzy might claim that "You don't know shit about me" from a position of relative obscurity on "Nuttin' Bout Me," an EP this solid is going to have a whole lot of people interested in rectifying that situation as quickly as possible.
