Puerto Muerto's Stars CD single from 2003 includes two songs from the group's second album for Fire, See You in Hell. "Stars" is a restrained and tense ballad with a tango beat and beguiling vocals from Christa Meyer; "Tennessee" is another tense ballad with a subtle hip-hop beat, an inventive arrangement, and another excellent vocal from Meyer. The third track is exclusive to the EP. The band's cover of the Kinks' "Alcohol" turns the song into a cabaret torch song and actually improves upon the original. Not too many people can make that claim for their covers of Kinks songs.
