AllMusic Review by

The post-disco/pre-house clearing-house compilation set that destroys all competitors, Unidisc's Star Funk goes so deep that even fanatics of the era in question will only find a cut or two worth keeping on each volume. The 36th volume does contain Sky's the Limit's "You Love Runs Free," Martina's "Central Park," and A Number of Names' "Skitso" (the otherwise impossible to find, inferior B-side to proto-Detroit techno classic "Sharevari"), and a few songs are curiosities in some respect, but there's far too much third-rate fluff to make this anything more than a middling affair. Hats off to Unidisc for putting forth the effort in digging up all of these forgotten (or never known to begin with) singles, but they've taken obscurantism too far.
