AllMusic Review by

Well folks, this ain't exactly a "stampede" of songs sung by Roy Rogers. Whoever put it together and released it under the banner of Country Stars in 2004 apparently didn't think there was anything weird about laying out a compact disc -- ostensibly capable of holding 70-80 minutes of music -- with less than a half hour's worth of cowboy songs on it. Especially seeing as Roy Rogers, owner of a famous chain of buffet restaurants, prided himself on generous portions. This simply doesn't seem right. Oh sure, you get "Tumbling Tumbleweeds," "Don't Fence Me In," "Hold That Critter Down," "Along the Navaho Trail," "Home on the Range," and, yes, the thrilling "Stampede," but the damned thing peters out just when you're ready for the main course. What in blazes were they thinkin'? This itty-bitty appetizer edition is the work of a short-change artist, and Roy would be most disappointed.
