AllMusic Review by

Part of Collectables' 1995 series, this brings together 18 tracks originally issued by the West Coast-based Class Records. The big hits here are Eugene Church's "Pretty Girls Everywhere" and Bobby Day's version of "Little Bitty Pretty One." But obscure sides like "I Bow to You" by Earl Nelson & the Pelicans, "Little Rose" by the Blenders, "Sad Fool" by the Roulettes, and "Teenager's Love Song" by the legendary Richard Berry & the Pharaohs are classic examples of the West Coast side of the doo-wop equation. More rock & roll-oriented sides from the Titans, the Satellites, the Tangiers, the Searchers, the Sputnicks, and Paul Clifton & Group complete the set. Like the other volumes in this series, there are no liner notes or recording information -- typical of early Collectables packaging -- but the transfers are squeaky clean, typical of many of the West Coast studios' clarity of the 1950s.
