AllMusic Review by

Originally released as an extremely limited CD in 2002, this split finds two like-minded acts of deeply underground black metal working through almost an hour of blazing metal, symphonic ambience, and nods to haunting gothic ceremonial music. Both Xasthur and Acid Enema tend toward the home-recorded side of production, with some Xasthur tracks recorded and equalized so strangely they sound almost wrapped in a layer of fiberglass insulation. Underwater-feeling recordings of raw metal are broken up by equally brittle passages of choral keyboards, cheap-sounding drum machine programming, and epic slower melodies before the lo-fi onslaught starts up again.
