Splish Splash, a ten-track budget compilation dealing with Bobby Darin, includes a few of the requisite hits -- "Splish Splash," "Dream Lover," "Mack the Knife" -- but all of them are featured in the shoddiest of substandard sound. In some cases, the audio quality is so poor it becomes difficult to even determine whether these are the hit versions or not. "Splish Splash" probably is, and as a late-'50s pop relic, never sounded very clear anyway; "Mack the Knife" is definitely not, Darin being heard in the full fin de siecle of live lounge loucheness.
