Vinny Golia's debut recording was also the first LP released by his Nine Winds label. Although not as strong a player as he would soon be, Golia already had a very inquisitive musical spirit. With clarinetist John Carter, bassist Roberto Miranda, and drummer Alex Cline, Golia (who is heard on tenor, baritone, piccolo, two flutes, two recorders, percussion, and the exotic sho) adds a lot of color to the adventurous set. The five originals each have "plots" (such as "the transmutation of negative energy to positive," "the battle of nature vs. machine," and "to say more with less") which are portrayed in very abstract fashion. An interesting release.
