AllMusic Review by

BMG Special Markets' The Spirit of Christmas, Vol. 3 contains ten tracks culled from the RCA/BMG vaults. The music is balanced between easy listening, classical and vocal-pop interpretations of classic Christmas tunes. The Three Suns do "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," Julie Andrews sings "Angels from the Realm of Glory," Andre Previn plays "O Little Town of Bethlehem," Mario Lanza contributes "We Three Kings of Orient Are," Perry Como croons "Joy to the World," Eddy Arnold offers his take on "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas," Floyd Cramer floats through a medley of "Up on the Housetop/Jingle Bells" -- there certainly are a lot of styles. Nevertheless, it's all tied together by a similar joyful sentiment and a traditional, reverent approach to the carols. Consequently, it's one of the more consistent and enjoyable budget-line discs on the market.
