Sparkling Beach

One of the hardest-working DJ collectives in Japan, GTS (made up of DJ Gee, Turbo, and Satoshi) put out their 17th album in 2007, primarily comprised of original material. Their sound is simultaneously clear and complex, thick with instrumentation but just kept clean enough to provide a basic house beat. Exotic instrumentation is pressed into service from time to time, as in the tango violin in "The Shadow of Your Smile," amplifying the differences between simple remixers and original DJs in the club scene. That said, GTS themselves remix a number of the hits on Sparkling Beach later in the album, and call on other popular DJs (most notably Daishi Dance) to do the same for the second half of the proceedings.
