On the Ranwood label, Lawrence Welk's accordionist did basically the same things as on the Dot label. The pick "hip" pop album among collections of polka and Welk's "champagne music" is Spanish Eyes. While not as stellar as 12 Great Hits on Dot, it does have the same quality and interest -- even more consistent, if just a notch or two below in intensity. Tunes range from "More" to Bonfa's "Samba de Orfeu" and the traditional showpiece of zany organists, "Tico Tico."
