This Minnesota-based choir was awarded the 2001 Stellar Award for Best New Artist for their debut project, God @ Work. That album incorporated a strong urban crossover flavor. Their sophomore release, Soul Interpretations, returns the choir to their gospel foundation, instituting a feel of Sunday morning worship. This feel is best noted through tracks such as "It's My Time," "Use Me," "I'm Grateful," and "Thank You." For a change of pace, the choir offers a touch of funk through the James Brown-inspired "The Blood (Never Lose Its Power)," a bit of rock on the guitar-dominated "Brand New Day," and a tad bit of R&B through the urban-influenced "All of My Heart."
