AllMusic Review by

Consisting of over a dozen volumes, the Bellevue label's Soul series is riddled with poor live recordings and woefully inferior studio re-recordings, the latter of which are not specified in the track listings. These should be avoided, as there are many series and box sets -- such as Soul Hits of the '70s, Sweet Soul Music, and Can You Dig It? The '70s Soul Experience -- that are legitimate. The title of this volume takes its name from the DeBarge song (not a cover) of the same title, merely a number 73 R&B single from 1987 (when El and Bunny weren't around). Selections include re-recorded versions of Odyssey's "Inside Out," Heatwave's "Share My Love," and Yarbrough & Peoples' "Don't Stop the Music."
