California pop-punkers the Story So Far prepared to tour the summer of 2014 away by embarking on their second complete run of the Warped Tour while fans patiently awaited a third full-length album. To fill the space and quell their patrons' ravenous appetites for new music, the band offered up the five-song acoustic EP Songs of the Story So Far. Recorded in a low-key manner, the EP's five songs feature little more than acoustic guitar and vocals on most tracks, though spare percussion, upright bass, and the occasional cello line show up on the more ambitious cuts. Apart from the band's originals, including re-imagined versions of previous electrified album cuts, the EP ends with a particularly mellow cover of Bob Marley's "Waiting in Vain."
