Songs for Your Little Princess features a dozen re-recorded pop and rock hits along with songs from cartoons, as performed by two session groups: Mega-Kids and Soundalikes. As their name suggests, the Mega-Kids have children singing along to popular songs, à la Kidz Bop. As with the Kidz Bop series, it's often disconcerting hearing kids singing songs like Nickelback's "Hero" and Faith Hill's "This Kiss"; their version of "Splish Splash" is the closest they come to being fun and age-appropriate. The Soundalikes turn in competent versions of "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes," "Dancing Queen," and "When You Wish Upon a Star." It's not a terrible collection, but Songs for Your Little Princess lacks the focus and personality of the best children's albums.
