Singer/songwriter Christy Riches Hinkson continues her strong songwriting with this collection of songs dedicated for the Relief Society Auxiliary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The women's auxiliary is noted for its emphasis on service and its large membership worldwide (4.5 million strong as of 2000). Fittingly, the songs fit the theme of service or are designed to uplift the weary but willing servants. There are 18 tracks on the CD, nine are performed with a vocalist; the remaining nine are practice tracks with only the accompaniment. The CD comes with a songbook, and there are two special scripts available for making an entire program using the songs and the spoken word. Some of the songs are recycled from Hinkson's previous offerings, but that doesn't detract from the effectiveness of the songs. This is a great resource for church musicians seeking uplifting material to add to their collection, as well as the fan of inspirational works.
