"Noel Rosa was a genius." The phrase by Tom Jobim, included in this compilation's inlay, summarizes the Brazilian feeling toward the great creator. Here, artists such as Jobim himself, Caetano Veloso, Carlos Lyra, Chico Buarque, Djavan, Rafael Rabello, Roberto Menescal, Francis Hime, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, João Bosco, João Nogueira, Leila Pinheiro, Marco Pereira, Maria Bethânia, Moraes Moreira, Nelson Gonçalves, Ney Matogrosso, Os Cariocas, and others paid tribute to Rosa through 22 of his biggest hits, in excellent renditions, all performed in the most respectful samba style (which is broad enough to shelter the broad range of expression of all these artists, each one owning his/her own individual voice), with exception of the disposable electrical funky rendition of "Pra que mentir?" by Cassiano and the also disposable electrical-styled reggae interpretation by Eduardo Dusek for "Quem Dá Mais?" In summary, a must have.
