Somewhere Different Review

by Tim A. Smith

Urban, CCM, country-pop, praise & worship -- they're all here in one delectable package. Lexi's voice is one that makes you want to get up and groove in one instant and puts you in definite chill-out mode during the next. Without a doubt, the opening two tracks, "He's Done So Much" and "Don't Give Up," are clubland material. The inspirational "Don't You (Tell Me What God Won't Do)" effectively pairs Lexi with Commissioned vocalist Marcus Cole. She shows her artistic versatility on the tracks "Without You" and "Dream (His Love Woke Me Up)," with the former being an emotion-filled urban ballad dealing with relationships and the latter a venture into the arena of CCM/country-pop. Closing the album out is the beautiful, sparsely arranged praise & worship number "I Lift My Hands."
