The commercial "Something for Joey" single isn't as compelling or essential as its promo-only counterpart on Columbia, but it's still well worth tracking down. In addition to the title cut, there are bizarro-world renditions of a pair of other Boces cuts: "There's Spider Eggs in Bubbla Yhum," an ominously slow, acoustic take of "Trickle Down" suggesting a spaghetti western theme, and "Suzanne Peels Out," a jazzier take on "Boys Peel Out." So jazzy, in fact, that David Baker begins scatting, much to the horror of flutist Suzanne Thorpe. There's also an unlisted noise track, if you need more incentive.
