Someone to Give My Love To/Ain't Gonna Take No for an Answer is See for Miles' reissue of Frank Ifield's two mid-'70s albums for the Spark label. There's not a bad or even a slightly weak song anywhere among the 23 tracks on this disc, and at least half a dozen are essential listening for fans of Ifield, who -- based on the evidence here -- was an even better singer in the 1970s than he was in the 1960s. The sound is up to See for Miles' usual high standard and the annotation, by the BBC's Spencer Leigh, is one of the more thorough accounts of Ifield's unusual life and career, capturing the strange intercontinental/multinational success that he enjoyed through two decades and halfway across the world.
