AllMusic Review by

Supplementing Bear Family's Rockin' Rollin' Johnny Horton, the 31-track Somebody's Rockin' contains a selection of good, if obscure, rock & roll and honky tonk Horton recorded in the mid-'50s, including "Devlish Lovelight," "Mean Mean Son of a Gun," "Happy Millionare," "Coal Smoke, Valve Oil and Steel," "Talk Gobbler Talk," "Bawlin' Baby," and "Tennessee Jive." Much of this material is fun, but it's only for hardcore fans, since the primary appeal of the music is its very obscurity; on the whole, it does not rank among his finest works.
