AllMusic Review by

The style of this album is a hybrid of Blake Babies, with its jangle-pop ("St. Christopher"), and Beat Happening, with its sometimes deep vocals and bare bones drumming ("Come Down," "Delicious"). At times, guitarist/co-vocalist Steve Schmoll creates distortion that sounds like it's coming out of a shoe box, adding to their candy-coated songs ("I Tried to Tell You," "Let's Smoke"). Suzann Lynch, the bassist in the band, shares vocal duties and adds childlike innocence (à la Juliana Hatfield) to tracks like "Crush" and "Jacked Up Nova." Out of the 14 songs on the record, only two have weak points ("You and Me," "Mad Anthony") due to their repetitiveness and lack of direction.
