AllMusic Review by

This obscure effort features altoist Marion Brown playing six unaccompanied solos during a 1977 concert. His renditions of "Hurry Sundown," "Angel Eyes" and his melodic original "And Then They Danced" are particularly memorable. Brown, whose lyrical approach to improvising contrasted with his adventurous flights, would soon fade away from the major jazz scene; in fact his solo recording was for a tiny label. This late-period LP is worth searching for by open-minded collectors.
