Like the other volumes in the series, Solo Para Bebes: Melodías de México gears itself to the under-five-years-of-age crowd. The music is gentle, played by marimba, clarinet, and a small string section with the distinct pace of a music box. The melodies are largely familiar to people all over the globe and not just Mexico, especially "La Cucaracha" and "Cielito Lindo." The gurgling of babies crops up now and then, which can be distracting, but fits in with the theme of the disc and reminds adult listeners that this isn't just for their enjoyment, but their kids as well.
