SO FAR: THE ACOUSTIC SESSIONS, as the subtitle implies, finds the Christian singer taking a bit of the jangle out of her catchy folk-pop songs. However, despite the pared down setting, songs like “All I Need” and “The Kingdom” lose little of their fire; in fact, the acoustic environment draws the quavering passion in her voice to the forefront, instilling them with a new edge. Of special note is her reflective reworking of the Beatles’ “We Can Work It Out,” as the surroundings grant a new angle on Lennon-McCartney’s classic battle between hope and despair.
