AllMusic Review by

Though the line-up rotates regularly, the Naysayer is essentially a vehicle for Anna Padgett's beautifully twisted songs that flirt with punk, minimalist pop, and folk, all the while maintaining a deeply personal feel that defies categorization. Padgett fingerpicks her distorted electric guitar to create a chiming drone and leans in on the mic to sing in a way that makes a listener feel personally serenaded. Her fourth full-length album was produced by indie goddess Tara Jane O'Neil "in the woods of Oregon" and one can smell the piney campfire in such introspective guitar ballads as "Lose Yourself in Nature and Find Peace," "Topanga," and "Do it on a Leaf."
