AllMusic Review by

Solar Records originally released these tracks. Two R&B classics are the highlights: Shalamar's exquisite "This Is for the Lover in You" and the Deele's endearing, longing "Two Occasions." Carrie Lucas' career never happened, but she's represented with three cuts -- her rendition of Barbara Lewis' "Hello Stranger" is nearly six minutes of bliss. Unsung Solar artists Bill Wolfer, Collage and Dynasty are represented by one song. "Curious" by Midnight Starr fueled the fires for later Solar smashes like "Operator." "I'm the One for You" was the last Whispers tune for Solar Records; it was released in 1981 but failed to impress. "No Pain, No Gain" and "Don't Keep Me Waiting" are solid but obscure Whispers tunes. This compilation is not essential, but it will generate sales because of the Deele, Shalamar and Whispers sides.
