New York's Cell offer [an] abstract setting, with fluid, meandering riffs that slowly build and overlap and begin to take shape as something powerful, hypnotic, and cohesive. At their best -- like on lead track "Fall" -- they evoke a sludgy, mutant version of fellow NYC'ers Television. Slo*Blo is an existential steamroller for the mind.
