AllMusic Review by

An internationally renowned club in Bournemouth, on the English south coast, Slinky has also forged a reputation as a source of top-notch trance and progressive compilations. And before you ask: Yes, the brashly named World Class is certainly a classy piece of work. It's a seamless blend of commercial and underground sounds, with plenty of variety to keep the interest up for the entire stretch. As you might expect, it carries heavy doses of those swooshing trance keyboards, progressive beats, and hypnotic female vocals, so hardcore fans of garage and deep house should probably stay away. If you've regularly popped your head into some decent clubs around the time of this release, then you're likely to recognize many of the tracks on here. There are such top-shelf numbers as Chris Cargo's emotionally charged "Touch the Sky" and W.O.S.P.'s soulful "Getting Into U." Lexy & K Paul's big hit, "The Greatest DJ," makes an appearance twice on CD two, as does the sleazy, tongue-in-cheek "Dirty" by Dirty. Basically, in true Slinky fashion, this is a great collection of tunes with a minimum of filler material. As Dirty smugly sings on his delectable track: "Oh yeah."
