The U.K. superclub Slinky continues to extend its brand into the realm of CD mix albums with John Kelly's appearance in the Slinky Presents Superclub DJ's series. The British DJ (not to be confused with John Kelley, a popular California DJ who recorded mix albums for Moonshine in the '90s) throws down an array of progressive trance anthems. The double-disc album boasts an impressive roster of big-name trance artists: Resistance D, Jam & Spoon, Mauro Picotto, Moonman (aka Ferry Corsten), X-press 2, Delerium, and DJ Tiesto, among others. And though trance fans will probably marvel at the track listing, Kelly's choice to drop one anthem after another can feel a bit overwhelming to the listener -- he smothers you in the sort of manic trance melodies that leave you reeling. The idea here is to stack as many big tracks on this album as possible, forsaking any sort of continuity.
