Sleeping Star is not exactly identical to Epic's first album, but little has changed. The songs still have that traditional ballad feel; witness "Tonight's the Night (Rock 'N' Roll Lullabye)," a song that borrows heavily from the long history of ballad procedure. Not that any of this is bad. "Emily May" has a rolling piano line and up-tempo rhythm that makes it the highlight of the disc. Most of the songs, however, are a bit too traditional to provoke any reaction by the listener.
