AllMusic Review by

This rap sampler, tied into Marc Levin's poetry-in-prison drama, boasts many of the best-known names in rap, among them Busta Rhymes, Coolio, KRS-One, Noreaga, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and Pras, but for the most part they and the other rappers are not doing their best work here. Big Punisher's "Sex, Money & Drugs" signals the subject matter to which the rappers hew, as they express anger and frustration in graphic terms over music samples borrowed from Charlie Daniels, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Love Unlimited, among others. While the raps are not specifically concerned with the film, there are excerpts of dialogue and poetry that dovetail with them in their slangy, obscenity-laden expressions.
