Eleven years after their first big hit single is an appropriate length of time for Maroon 5 to deliver their first greatest-hits collection. Contrary to its declarative title, The Singles doesn't deliver all of the group's released singles, not by a long shot. It has a mere 12, tipping the balance toward the 2010s, the era when Adam Levine was a household name thanks to his starring role on The Voice. There are three songs apiece from 2012's Overexposed and 2014's V, just two from 2002's Songs About Jane and 2007's It Won't Be Soon Before Long, and two from Hands All Over, one of them being "Moves Like Jagger," the duet with fellow Voice star Christina Aguilera that helped push Maroon 5 back into the Top 10. While some moderate hits are missing -- "Harder to Breathe," "Sunday Morning," the 2015 single "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like a Mother****er" -- anything that regularly gets played on radio or malls are here, making this a good one-stop shop for casual fans.
