Veteran clarinetist Tommy Gwaltney is heard on this LP leading a Dixieland septet at the 1975 Manassas Jazz Festival. Gwaltney plays well on the three instrumentals, as do cornetist Doc Evans (heard late in his career) and trombonist Bill Allred. Two songs have barely tolerable vocals from Fat Cat McRee, while Maxine Sullivan is a bright voice on "I've Got the World on a String" and "St. Louis Blues." Overall nothing all that essential occurs, although there are some good moments here and there, mostly from the horn players.
