AllMusic Review by

Sir Colin Davis recorded the complete symphonic cycle of Jean Sibelius three times, first in the 1970s with the Boston Symphony Orchestra on Philips, second in the 1990s with the London Symphony Orchestra on RCA, and third in the 2000s with the same orchestra on LSO Live. This 2016 box set is therefore a repackaged presentation, and may be regarded as the deluxe edition, because the seven symphonies, the tone poems Kullervo, The Oceanides, and Pohjola's Daughter are presented on five hybrid SACDs and one Blu-ray disc. While the previous recordings are all exceptional and highly recommended for any music library, audiophiles and collectors will be most interested in acquiring this set. The Super Audio discs are compatible with all standard CD players and provide an extraordinarily rich and spacious sound, while the Blu-ray disc is playable in all regions.
