Produced by singer/songwriter Chris Harford, the Saras' Siamese Connection features a wide array of New Jersey area musicians backing the Beatles-meet-Ani DiFranco pop duo. Interesting vocal phrasing ("Pink and Yellow Lake") and suburban imagery ("Out of Sight") work toward making a compelling mix. The music is not soft, but in many places it does lack an edge that would contrast interestingly with the group's lyrics. Still, the band has successfully synthesized dozens of pop-friendly influences into a pleasent, if unexciting, combination.
